Angielski dla Wymagających

You're the best thing about me

"You're the best thing about me" to pierwszy singiel z ich nowego albumu (którego premiera podobno w grudniu) zatytuowanego "Songs of Experience" - czyli takie piosenki doświadczone lub (miejmy nadzieję) - wynikające z doświadczenia, a doświadczenia na scenie panom z U2 na pewno nie brakuje :)))

To tak słowem wstępu, a tymczasem - Let's get down to it!

Tutaj znajdziecie czasowniki wycięte z tekstu piosenki:
Here you'll find verbs cut out from the lyrics:

SEE (3x)
KNOW
LOOK
ENJOY (2x)
CAN
FEEL
LOVE
HAVE
FALL
NEEDS
WAKE
SHOW
TEACH

Poniżej macie tekst piosenki - spróbujcie (BEZ SŁUCHANIA) przyporządkować powyższe czasowniki w odpowiednie luki w tekście:
Down below you'll find the lyrics - try (WITHOUT LISTENING) to put the above verbs in the correct gaps in the lyrics:

When you …………………… so good
The pain in your face doesn't ……………………
When you look so good
and baby you don't even …………………….
When the world is ours
But the world is not your kind of thing
Full of shooting stars
Brighter as they're vanishing
Oh you've seen enough to know it's children who ……………………..
You're still free enough to …………………. up on a bed or a beach.

You're the best thing about me
The best thing that ever happened a boy
You're the best thing about me
I'm the kind of trouble that you ……………………..
You're the best thing about me
The best things are easy to destroy
You're the best thing about me
The best thing about me

I been crying out
How bad …………………….. a good time be
Shooting off my mouth
That's another great thing about me
I …………………… everything but I ………………. like nothing at all
There's no risky thing for a man who's determined to …………………..

You're the best thing about me
The best thing that ever happened a boy
You're the best thing about me
I'm the kind of trouble that you ………………
You're the best thing about me
The best things are easy to destroy
You're the best thing about me
Why am I
Why am I walking away
Why am I walking away?

I can ………………. it all so clearly
I can ………………. what you can't see
I can ………………. you ……………….. her loudly
When she ………………………. you quietly

You're the best thing about me
The best things are easy to destroy
You're the best thing about me
Why am I
Why am I walking away (walking away)
Why am I walking away?

Teraz sprawdźcie, czy dobrze wykonaliście zadanie - obejrzyjcie teledysk poniżej:
Now let's check if you were right - watch the video below:

Oczywiście możecie też od razu posłuchać muzyki i wtedy wpisać sobie słowa - jak wolicie ;)
Of course you can always listen to music first and fill in the gaps as you go on - it's up to you;)

And finally...

Here are some expressions from the lyrics you might be wondering about:

"the world is not your kind of thing" = ten świat nie jest w twoim typie; nie jest dla ciebie
"full of shooting stars" = pełen spadających gwiazd
"brighter as they're vanishing" = jaśniejszych kiedy znikają
"you've seen enough" = widziałeś wystarczająco dużo
"the best thing that ever happened a boy" = najlepszą rzeczą jaka się kiedykolwiek przytrafiła chłopcu
"you're the best thing about me" = jesteś najlepszą rzeczą we mnie
"I been crying out" = I have been crying out = wołam / wołałem
"that's another great thing about me" = to kolejna dobra rzecz we mnie
