Angielski dla Wymagających

Phrasal Verbs with COME part 2

Dzisiaj część druga czasowników frazowych z come.

come apart
Zaczynamy od rozpadania się, czyli od come apart. Jeśli nasze buty lub na przykład łóżko się rozpadają możemy powiedzieć:

The shoes which I bought just a month ago are already coming apart.

come at
Come at sb. to zaatakować kogoś - She came at me with a knife. (Zaatakowała nie nożem)

come away
Come away to trochę taki synonim do leave, czyli wychodzić, odchodzić - They came away from the cinema and called a taxi. (Wyszli z kina i zamówili taksówkę), He came away with the feeling that nobody understood him. (Odszedł z poczuciem, że nikt go nie zrozumiał). Come away to też odsuwać się, np. Come away from the fire! (Odsuń się od ognia!). W końcu come away możemy użyć też do powiedzenia, że coś od czegoś odpadło - The wallpaper is coming away. (Tapeta odchodzi, odpada).

Norah Jones "Come away with me" z tekstem tak prostym ale bynajmniej nie banalnym, aby come away utknęło w pamięci :)

Come away with me in the night
Come away with me
And I will write you a song

Come away with me on a bus
Come away where they cant tempt us
With their lies

I want to walk with you
On a cloudy day
In fields where the yellow grass grows
knee-high
So wont you try to come

Come away with me and we'll kiss
On a mountaintop
Come away with me
And i'll never stop loving you

And I want to wake up with the rain
Falling on a tin roof
While I'm safe there in your arms
So all I ask is for you
To come away with me in the night
Come away with me

come back
Come back to po prostu 'wrócić' - He came back at night; She came back to her husband.
Come back to też analogicznie 'powracać' - Memories came back when he saw her.
Można też 'wracać z czymś' czyli come back with sth - He came back with an idea to sell the house. (Wrócił z pomysłem sprzedania domu)
Coming back to what you were saying to z kolei 'wracając do tego co mówiłeś'
It's all coming back to me now to 'teraz wszystko sobie przypominam', jest to też tytuł jednej z najpiękniejszych soft rockowych ballad, napisanej przez Jima Steinmana.

There were nights when the wind was so cold

That my body froze in bed
If I just listened to it
Right outside the window

There were days when the sun was so cruel
That all the tears turned to dust (wszystkie łzy zamieniły się w pył)
And I just knew my eyes were
Drying up forever

I finished crying in the instant that you left
And I can't remember where or when or how
And I banished (porzuciłam)every memory you and I had ever made (Past Perfect Simple!)

But when you touch me like this
And you hold me like that
I just have to admit (muszę po prostu przyznać)
That it's all coming back to me
When I touch you like this
And I hold you like that
It's so hard to believe but (trudno w to uwierzyć)
It's all coming back to me
(It's all coming back, it's all coming back to me now)

There were moments of gold
And there were flashes of light
There were things I'd never do again
But then they'd always seemed right
There were nights of endless pleasure
It was more than any laws allow
Baby Baby

If I kiss you like this
And if you whisper like that (wyszeptam)
It was lost long ago
But it's all coming back to me
If you want me like this
And if you need me like that
It was dead long ago
But it's all coming back to me
It's so hard to resist (tak trudno się temu oprzeć)
And it's all coming back to me
I can barely recall
But it's all coming back to me now
But it's all coming back

There were those empty threats and hollow lies
And whenever you tried to hurt me
I just hurt you even worse
And so much deeper

There were hours that just went on for days
When alone at last we'd count up all the chances
That were lost to us forever

But you were history with the slamming of the door (trzaśnięcie drzwi)
And I made myself so strong again somehow
And I never wasted any of my time on you since then

But if I touch you like this
And if you kiss me like that
It was so long ago
But it's all coming back to me
If you touch me like this
And if I kiss you like that
It was gone with the wind (przeminęło z wiatrem)
But it's all coming back to me
(It's all coming back, it's all coming back to me now)

There were moments of gold
And there were flashes of light
There were things we'd never do again
But then they'd always seemed right
There were nights of endless pleasure
It was more than all your laws allow
Baby, Baby, Baby

When you touch me like this
And when you hold me like that
It was gone with the wind
But it's all coming back to me
When you see me like this
And when I see you like that
Then we see what we want to see
All coming back to me
The flesh and the fantasies
All coming back to me
I can barely recall
But it's all coming back to me now

If you forgive me all this
If I forgive you all that
We forgive and forget
And it's all coming back to me
When you see me like this
And when I see you like that
We see just what we want to see
Al coming back to me
The flesh and the fantasies
All coming back to me
I can barely recall but it's all coming back to me now

(It's all coming back to me now)
And when you kiss me like this
(It's all coming back to me now)
And when I touch you like that
(It's all coming back to me now)
If you do it like this
(It's all coming back to me now)
And if we...

come by
Come by to wpaść, zajrzeć do kogoś:
You should come by and see us! (Powinieneś do nas wpaść i się z nami zobaczyć)
Jeśli natomiast coś takiego jak job (praca), book (książka) lub money (pieniądze) jest hard to come by, to jest to trudne do zdobycia, znalezienia:
He would like to work a little and earn a lot, but a job like that is hard to come by.

To be continued... ;)))
